It's Farmers Market Season in PDX!

Grab your reusable tote bag - Portland's vibrant farmers markets are opening for the season, and they are too good to miss!

When I walk through the stalls at my local farmers market, I am blown away by how gorgeous all of the local produce is! I am also continually grateful to live in a city where people truly value and go out of their way to patronize small, local businesses. It's easy to forget that it's not like this everywhere and that we really do live in a special place - #blessed, am I right?

Whew! I am on my Portland soap box today! Seriously though, our farmers market scene is fabulous, so I challenge you to get out there and check it out this summer.

When we shop at our local farmers market, there are so many benefits. We are stimulating our local economy. We are purchasing (super fresh) produce for less than we could purchase it for at the grocery store. We are helping to reduce the carbon footprint of all of the businesses we are purchasing from. We are promoting sustainability. We are modeling all of these things for our children. So, not only are we saving the world one bunch of kale at a time, but also a morning spent browsing the stalls is a super fun outing for the whole family! Grab your produce for the week, listen to some live music, eat a yummy lunch, and enthrall your kiddos or your fur baby with all of the sights, sounds and smells. Everybody wins!
