The holiday season has officially commenced, and I am SO excited! Portland is home to so many fun and unique holiday events to help us celebrate the season - there is something for everyone to enjoy - get out there and join in the festivities. Christmas Festival of Lights at The Grotto
Daily from November 29 - December 30 (closed Christmas day)

The Grotto's Christmas Festival of Lights is the largest Christmas choral festival in the world! It features more than 160 indoor holiday concerts performed by many of the region's school, church, and civic choirs. There are also amazing light displays, a petting zoo, puppet shows, outdoor caroling, and food and drinks available. This event is a Portland classic!
ZooLights at The Oregon Zoo

Another Portland holiday classic! This is so much fun! Walk through the zoo to experience a dazzling display of over 1.5 million lights. Take a ride on the train and enjoy food and drinks from local food carts. You can even get your picture taken with Santa!
Winter Wonderland at Portland International Raceway

Stay warm and dry in the comfort of your car as you drive through an amazing holiday light show featuring over 250 separate lighted displays and animated scenes. This is a really fun and unique event, and all proceeds benefit The Sunshine Division, whose mission is to provide food and clothing relief to Portlanders in need.

Stay warm and cozy under a clear, heated tent that covers Pioneer Courthouse Square as you enjoy the holiday lights of the city. Over 50 breweries are participating in this year's festival and offer exclusive holiday and small batch brews. Cheers to that!
Alpenrose Dairy Christmas in Dairyville

Bring the family to experience this holiday tradition! Featuring over 300 decorated trees, live animals, dance performances, movie screenings, carolers and choir concerts, this event has so much to see and do. Sip hot chocolate, nosh on goodies from their bakery, and visit Santa. This is a free event, but they do take donations of canned food or new toys.
Cinnamon Bear Cruises

Cruise down the river on the Portland Spirit for two hours of family fun. With a snack buffet full of holiday treats, multiple story times, holiday sing-alongs, treasure hunts, and a cast full of fanciful characters, this cruise is be a magical experience for kids of all ages!
A Pittock Mansion Christmas

Visit Portland's historic Pittock Mansion and experience the literary visions of local decorators as they transform the mansion's already amazing rooms into magical storybook settings. This year's theme explores the wonderful world of books, from children's classics to modern-day mysteries. The view of the city from the grounds can't be beat!

A Portland holiday tradition since 1932 - this neighborhood is known for its amazing holiday light displays! There are a few pedestrian-only nights, or you can enjoy the lights from the comfort of your car (although slow moving traffic and lots of pedestrians makes this option a bit more difficult). There is even a free hot cider and cocoa booth to help you get in the holiday spirit and stay warm while viewing the displays!
