Did you miss Coachella this year? Me too! Not to worry - Portland has its own music festival, and - bonus - it happens to be the nation's greenest, most sustainable festival which I think makes it even cooler than partying in the desert with celebrities! It boasts an impressive lineup of folk, indie, and bluegrass artists playing on six different stages. This is such a fun event with options to stay and camp for the whole weekend or to just drop in for a day of music.
Who doesn't love a delicious burger - beef, veggie, or otherwise? I sure do. And for $5? From some of the best restaurants in Portland? Yes, please! There are over 60 restaurants participating this year, offering a signature burger for just $5. Get out there and eat some burgers, people!
The Providence Bridge Pedal will be the 24th annual celebration of two things: Portland's lovely bridges, and cycling! This event attracts around 20,000 participants, and has many different options that range from a kid-friendly 3 mile ride (or walk) to a 23 mile tour of Portland's bridges. Such a fun chance to experience our beautiful bridges car-free!
This is a uniquely Portland event and is a beloved summertime tradition at Mt. Tabor park! Each year 7,000-10,000 people gather to watch a colorful and entertaining spectacle of over 40 homemade coaster cars powered only by gravity, whimsy, and a lot of attitude. Participants are judged on speed, engineering, art, and more. Sounds like fun! **Please note, because of the tight spaces and fast racing, this event is not stroller or dog friendly.**
This is a fabulous free event! This Fine Arts & Crafts Festival features art, theater, music, and hands-on activities for people of all ages. It has been recognized as one of the top ten arts and crafts festivals in the nation - time to go check it out!
